LUCINDA SLOAN MALLEN FUND
"Keeping the Doors to Mental Health Open"
Twenty years ago Lucinda Sloan Mallen had a vision and a goal, to contribute to the improvement of the quality of life for people with mental illness. Her vision and passionate advocacy for individuals with mental illness led to the development of a number of innovative and successful programs. By lending her leadership and organizational skills to dozens of consumer and provider coalitions Lucinda has greatly contributed to public awareness about the magnitude, effects and unmet needs of those suffering from serious and persistent mental illness to those dealing with periodic or situational psychological trauma.
Lucinda not only opened the doors to mental health throughout Orange County, she laid the foundation for opening doors to mental health throughout the country. In order to keep these "doors open" the Board of Directors of MHA has established The Lucinda Fund in tribute to Lucinda's vision, passion and tireless efforts of behalf of the needs of individuals and their significant others experiencing the effects of mental illness.
The proceeds of The Lucinda Fund will go directly to the many programs that she so tirelessly worked to create.
