FRIENDS
is a clinically supervised youth group The goal of the FRIENDS group is to help youth develop confidence in group settings, help them develop friendships, build the social skills necessary to make and maintain friendships and to have fun! The
FRIENDS group is facilitated by Denis O’Keefe, CSW, a
behavioral specialist, with experience counseling youth with
special needs and their families.
The clinical approach is experiential, meaning that

Groups
run for 8 weeks in various locations throughout Orange County
(Newburgh, Middletown, Montgomery, Port Jervis There is no cost for the FRIENDS group although there are minimal costs associated with some of the community activities. Youth are grouped based on chronological and functional age. Initially started for youth with ADHD, FRIENDS serves any youth with social and/or behavioral challenges. An
information group is held for parents prior to the start of each
session to discuss program goals, expectations, and how to
reinforce and maintain
