In 1998, the Orange County Eating Disorders Coalition was formed to address the issue of eating disorders in Orange County. Under the leadership of Mental Health Association in Orange County, Inc., individuals from schools, colleges, hospitals, county government and those recovering from eating disorders joined in the mission to advance the understanding, prevention, and early detection and treatment of eating disorders. Some of their accomplishments have included a regional resource and referral list of providers specializing in eating disorders, an on-line eating disorders screening program, community educational workshops and annual conferences.
The Orange County Eating Disorders Coalition meets on a monthly basis on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 9:15am. Meetings are conducted at the Mental Health Association offices, 20 Walker Street, Goshen, NY 10924.
